Alex is a rescued Border Collie, proudly owned by Paula and Leo Smith. He started his flyball career in January 2008. A true ball crazy dog, Alex lives for flyball, but also excels at agility and enjoys herding. |

U-CDX U-GRATCH Blitz JH CDX RE OA OAJ NF WWWCDX FM TF-II Blitz is a 7 1/2 year old Weimaraner. He just LOVES flyball!! He get so excited his body just quivers as we set up for our Start Dog position. I can feel his heart beating like crazy. If someone flicks a wrist he is ready to go. He is not especially a 'ball' dog but since I send him to 'get the ball', he knows his job and will get it done.....and loves doing it. He also enjoys hunting, agility, obedience, flyball, therapy work, and being a service dog. He is just happy doing things with his MOM!!! It helps keep us both young!! Blitz is the #19 ranked Weimaraner in NAFA, and the #4 ranked in U-FLI. |

Bonnie is a rescued Border Collie from Polk County Animal Control on March 16, 2008 proudly owned by Randy Garvin & Judy Bucher. She was estimated to be around 2 years old at the time of her rescue. The 29 lb rocket is looking forward to running with the Barkaneers and zooming down the lanes. In her spare time she chases the tennis ball over hell’s half acre, plays with her older sister, 11 year old Maggie, and happily herds the house cats. She also recently welcomed a new brother, a BC named Finn, into the pack. |

Booge is a five year old, snowbird miniature poodle. She was born on June 13, 2003, and is owned by Gloria and Jerry Fay. She spends her summers training and competing in U-Fli Flyball in Michigan, and the remainder of the time in Florida with the Barkaneers competing in NAFA. She has always been a very high energy dog and has finally found an outlet for her energy in Flyball. Booge started her Flyball training in January, 2007 and became a member of the Barkaneers in March, 2008. She made her Flyball debut to actually get out on the lanes and race on November 8, 2008, where she earned her Flyball Dog (11/08/3008) and Flyball Dog Excellent (11/09/2008). She hopes to have a long career now that she has finally made it. |

Breeze is a three year old Border Collie run by Alan Conroy. Breeze runs Start Dog position and runs in the low 4's. She loves flyball and gives it her all. Breeze has reached her Flyball Master title, 5,000 points. |

Chase FDCH Chase is a mini aussie. She was born July 16th 2008. Allen and Laurie got her when she was 3 months old. Allen got hooked on flyball when he met Laurie and decided he wanted to get a height dog and train. Chase is now almost 1 years old and she has grown bigger than we planned, so she wont make it as a height dog, but will do well as a regular dog! (hopefully) She has been training for flyball for about 3 months now. Chase started herding classes when she was 9 months old, and she is doing very well. She loves to herd the sheep! Chase lives with Cody (2 1/2 yr old BC) and Nitro (3 month old BC) Chase loves to play and run around with the other dogs. She gets daily excerise on the treadmill and trains at home doing flyball. Hopefully when she gets a little older we will start her on agility. |

Cody was born November 26 2006. Cody started flyball when he was 9 months old. After two years and lots of training Cody has made the team! In his first tournament in 2008 he earned his first two titles. Cody also trains in Agility and Herding. He lives with Laurie & Allen, along with Chase and Nitro. |

Crush was born in Oklahoma on March 18, 2006 and is owned by Alan and Diane Conroy. Crush has a strong desire to do Flyball, and has achieved his titles quickly. He is also competing in Agility and Obedience shows. |

Elu is a Dogo Argentino. He was born in Argentina. Shortly after his birth, Elu was discovered to be bilaterally deaf. He lives with Carla & Mark Thomas. Elu is trained completely by hand signals. He is one of only two Dogos competing in flyball. |

Harley (aka The Red Rocket) is a 4 year old Vizsla who is new to the Barkaneers Racers and is the Queen of Perpetual Motion. She is very fast paced and high energy. She lives to run, fetch and retrieve, and loves FLYBALL! Harley is the #44 ranked Vizsla in NAFA, and #6 ranked in U-FLI. |

Gidget is a Miniature Pinscher, born July 24 2007. She was rescued by and lives with Carla & Mark Thomas, at 6 months of age; after being passed around to four different homes. She is very intelligent and has tons of energy. Her previous homes couldn't handle her enthusiasm. She now enjoys training in agility, flyball, and weightpulling. Gidget's fastest time was 5.04 seconds. She is the #15 ranked Miniature Pinscher in NAFA. She was voted MVP of the Tampa Bay Barkaneers for 2008. |

Hennessy is an American Pit Bull Terrier, born October 31 2006, who lives with Carla & Mark Thomas. His first flyball tournament was October 9th & 10th 2008. He ran like a pro. He also competes in obedience, rally, weight pulling, agility, and conformation. Hennessy is the #27 ranked American Pit Bull Terrier in NAFA, and the #11 ranked in U-FLI. |

He also competes in rally, agility, weight pulling, and conformation; with hopes of competing in dock diving in the near future. Jamie Lynn is a 5 year old black & white parti-color American Cocker Spaniel. She was adopted by Claudia Larrain and Matt Mosk. Jamie Lynn is a bit of a princess, who wants what she wants now! She howls at the moon when she can't run, and her handler can barely hold on to her while she waits her turn to go down the lane. She barks, rears up and bucks like a horse. Amazing for a 20 lb. "miss priss". She is very bonded to her handler, never leaving her side, yet she has overcome many of her fears since joining the flyball gang, showing more confidence every day. |

U-CD Fleetwood Farms Royal Go Bragh CD RN FDCH TF-I Kelli is a very young 8 year old Irish Setter who has played ball since she was 3 months old. She likes long walks, chasing balls, cold weather, chasing balls, and sleeping late in the morning. She has really turned on to Flyball only because she can go get the ball, and bring it back to me. She also has a knack for throwing pillows. My favorite redhead is an Irish lass. Kelli is the #15 ranked Irish Setter in NAFA, and the #2 ranked in U-FLI. |

Kosh is an Australian Shepherd, that came from Southeastern Guide Dog School. He became a member of the Henson family at 8 weeks of age (born Sept 02), when it was determined that he could not be trained as a service dog due to a genetic eye defect. That has not stopped him from playing flyball and running agility. Kosh is an original member of the Barkaneers and raced in our first tournament appearance in Feb 07. Kosh is notorious for "trash talking" the opposing dog, while racing down the lane. |

Lilly, a rescue proudly owned by Paula & Leo Smith, was one of the original racing Barkaneers. It seemed the stress of tournaments was a bit too much for her, though, and she is mostly retired now. She seems quite happy with her role of #1 Cheerleader! |

Ranger was rescued from Animal Services of Ouachita Parish, West Monroe, La and came to Border Collie Rescue with the help of many caring people. He was adopted by Helen and Ed Robertson in 2007. Since then he has been a big part of their lives. Ranger was first trained in Flyball by Helen, then Ed took over after this dog's enthusiasm for the sport of flyball got a wee bit much for Helen to handle. Ed refers to he and Ranger as the "Border Boys". |

Rim Shot was born August 26, 1997 to Jumpin Jack Flash. She has always been a "little jumpin jack" russell. She reminds me of the little racehorse Seabiscut, little horse but a very big heart. She lives for flyball, this sport has brought years back to her life. Rimmy loves to race for the ball. She loves to dive in the pool too. Rimmy has been Sue and Steve Fortenbery's friend for a long time. |

Rocket-Man is a Border-Jack from Michigan. He is agile and fast and loves Flyball. Rocket is not a hyper Borderjack, and Diane reports he is easy to live with and quick to learn. When not running flyball, Rocket is learning how to do competition Obedience too. |

Ruckus was rescued in April 2009. He has had very little training, socialization, or guidance for the first year and a half of his life. In fact, he has spent most of his life in a crate. |

Rhyes is a two year old cattle dog mix rescued form the Pinellas County SPCA when he was 4 months old. He started flyball in July 2008 and has made a lot of progress. He obtained his Flyball Dog Title in May of this year. He knows his job and does it--he just hasn't figured out speed is part of the game. Rhyes has been trained in obedience and recently started agility classes. He is owned by Beth and John McCormick. |

Vanna is a 2 year old rescue Jack Russell Terrier owned by Diane Conroy. Vanna runs as "height dog" for her team. Vanna loves running flyball and hates "false starts" and protests for not being able to run with "banshee screams". |

Whiskey was adopted, by Karen and Ron Henson, when he was two and a half years old. He started flyball training the next week. A year later, in January 08, this Australian Shepherd had his flyball debut and after a rough start, he has come on strong and is steadily earning title points and improving his speed and skill in passing. Whiskey also is training in agility. |
